Thanks. Andrew provided this info to me too. Now to try and track some of the specimens down!
I was hoping members here would still have some in their tanks. Andy Rushworth, Mick Wright?

Re: Lepidocephalus/Lepidocephalichthys Find!
Are they the same ones as these though with the distinct stripe through them? Do you have any pics and any specimens?
Thanks

Re: Lepidocephalus/Lepidocephalichthys Find!
Has anyone got any of these still going in their tanks?
If so could we have a photo of them now please, especially the pectoral fin of any males (to see the laminar circularis - the modified fin rays)
Can anyone remember where in India they were supposed to have been caught?

Nice pic n fish Mick. They are very similar but I think they are different. Mick's fish and the ones in Emma's old thread look different to me to the ones in this thread. The colours and slight differences in pattern could be down to regional variation or diet but the lateral line does look differen...

Emma These to me appear to be the same species as each other. Although they may show different behaviour I don't think this alone is enough for differentiating them, when in all other useable morphological factors they appear to be the same fish. However, I do think that both of these are closer to ...

I've asked The.Dark.One to take a look, when he has time. 8) They match the many photographs in "A Photographic Guide to the Inland-water Fishes of Taiwan Vol 1" of Crossostoma lacustre (or Formosiana lacustre depending on what classification you follow). There are two colour 'morphs', one more gol...

I have risen....... They look to me like a Nemacheilus, not a Schistura. They appear to be in the same complex as N. masyae etc. The closest described fish I can see is N. pallidus (look at the fish in image 7 of the second batch of images), however, that species tends to have markings in the dorsal...

Yeah, I agree on A. molobrion. One of the features to diagnose Acantopsis from Acanthopsoides is that in Acantopsis the suborbital spine is clearly anterior to the eye, whereas in Acanthopsoides it is under or partly anterior to the eye. In these fish part of it is under the eye. If they are from Bo...

I wish I did work at the NHM!!!! No, unfortunately I am an amateur, although the NHM is very helpful with me and provides access to stuff. No, the person I am talking about doesn't work at NHM. I can't really say as I was told in confidence. I think it will be appearing in Zootaxa though and may not...

Some look like Cobitis melanoleuca (this is a very widespread species, with perhaps some subspecies that have not yet been adequately recognised). The longer ones have a look of Iksookimia longicorpa, albeit again, this is a variable fish. They may have come from southern China or via China from Kor...
