I've had this happen. Its led me to drain half the water from a holding tank and put wood and rocks on top to keep the little dudes in!
very sorry for your loss, its never easy. I had one weather loach get out of a small gap left for an air line once.

Re: New tank
pygmy cory (fostered from a friend, so unfortunately only 1, poor dude) No idea about the rest, sorry, but I am starting a colony of pygmy cory, so I could take him in and he can live with my other cory (I have around 40 of them lol, I'm a big fan :D) if you don't want him :) I hate seeing them alo...

Why would you not keep clowns with an oscar though? I am very curious and would like all the info I can get before moving anyone around :) Hi saphphx, You will always find that there are people who say these sort of combinations are ok, and often say so in order to try and 'prove a point'. However,...

Hi saphphx, Hello :D Assuming that the Polypterus has been correctly identified, were you aware that the species in question can attain 75cm (almost 30") in length? Even though you are proposing quite a large aquarium, this tank is not going to be big enough to end up being the final aquarium for t...

Full grown clowns with a Polypterus bichir lapradei??
I have a Polypterus bichir lapradei and about... 9 or 10 clown loaches. Once they get at least as large as the Synodontis eupterus and the (possible) Synodontis bastiani which are about 5-6 inches each and have been left alone before I took the lapradei out (she wasn't eating well, so went upstairs)...

I think you'd be best off harvesting the snails and feeding them to your loaches in the aquarium they are settled in, rather than moving the loaches about in order to eat these snails out of different tanks. Clown loaches need stability. However, it is your decision, this is just my opinion....

I can't believe that clowns won't pick away at endlers, especially fry. They might not eat them while you are watching, but at some time. And if they enjoy the taste of them more than snails ... I think I will move the endlers out, move the loaches in to eat the snails I cant pick out then rotate t...

In my opinion, people should only keep clowns in tanks that are dedicated to their care and because they really want them, rather than just for the purpose clearing up snails. Clowns of only 2cm in size are not likely to be able to manage snails of much a size anyway. If I didn't want them, I would...

Clown Loaches and Endler Fry?
I have TONS of snails. I am interested in adding some clown loaches to the tanks to keep the problems down. I have clown loaches in all my tanks, but have never tried them in my endler breeding tanks, which often have fish fry in them. Being a down-turned mouth fish, will they bother the fry or leav...
