My mother grew up in Bergen County... in my visits up there I've come across Fish Town USA in Ramsey, pretty good place. I've heard rumors of some shark place but never found it.

My group of Botia kubotai and my Red-tail Shark (Epalzeorhynchos/Labeo frenatus) also get along this way. They share a cave under a hunk of wood and while the shark is head of the cave they all squeeze in there together; when swimming about the shark swims with the kubotai as if he thinks he is one 8)

In the second clip it is shown a Polypterus senegalus. I thought that they were originary from Africa. Were they introduced or are also endemic of Malaysia? Agreed, I've always thought they are native to Senegal (obviously). The fish in the video didn't look like any Polypterus senegalus I'...

I saw that eel on Siamensis too, my best guess is the fire eel.
Anyone else notice the two loaches in the background? The top one appears to be a Yasuhikotakia morleti. It's hard to make out the bottom one, but I would guess it's a kubotai 8)

Interesting identification - kubotai?

I have pulled this over here [to the true loach experts] from another forum. I normally would not bother doing so, but I have taken a real interest in the fish since I've never seen anything like it. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e193/littjaymo/PIC_0062.jpg People have been debating between seve...

Amazing Nonn! Thank you so very much for sharing your trips with us. These pictures give me a feeling I cannot describe. I've read of someone elses kuhlis being very active before a storm too, but who knows they are crazy kuhlis  . That storm is heading my way in Carolina too. I've been keeping an eye on it the past two days; it shouldn't arrive here until dinner time. Good luck :)

Good score there Mick. I used to have a kubotai just like that - I was in my LFS one day picking up some plants and of course checked out the fish too. As I was on my way out the door I thought to myself "well I'll glance in the kub tank one last time" and I saw in the corner the largest kub I've ev...

Haha, this thread made me chuckle. My kubotai do the same thing. Like Mick's histrionica my kubs wedge themselves between the powerhead and the glass, it's their favorite spot.
