Mixing them up a bit??
I was hoping that you folks might have some advice as for what I can add to a 75G tank. I am currently keeping 6 B.Striata and was thinking of upping the shoal, but was also wondering if a small shoal of Histies would be ok with the 6 B.Striatas? Should I just stick to only B.Striatas and add a few ...

I am starting to wonder what is going on with the horsefaced loaches recently. I purchased one a few months back as some of you may recall. He developed a strange marking just behind his eyes, this later turned into a nasty ulcer. I treated the ulcer with Melafix/Primafix, and it got better. Then he...

starsplitter7, thanks for the link for Franks. Interesting site. I started an order just to see what shipping charges would be and the only option available was "Pickup at Sellers Location". Don't know, maybe he's not shipping right now... Years ago striata was considered a rarity. I found one and ...

I get most of my parts and stuff from eBay to be honest. They are cheaper most times just watch out for shipping charges, sometimes the shipping makes it more than just going to the LFS for supplies. I am running a 9W turbo twist on my 60G inline with a Rena XP3 canister filter. I have never had a p...

How to net hillstreams??
I am going to be getting a spiffy new 100G tank in another two weeks. I have already cycled the filters to go on that tank by letting them run with my current filters on my established tanks, and I cycled most of the new substrate by hanging it in panty hose in some of my other tanks for the past th...

I have a Coralife Turbo Twist 9W on my 60G tank it is works like a dream! I had a green water problem a while back and insteead of a diatom filter that would have temporarily cleared the water; I opted for the UV sterilizer since the loaction of my tank would have meant that the green water would ju...

I am so glad I am not the only one who has had this happen. I have 5 B.Striata and one Zipper loach in a tank together. They were fine for months, then one day I woke up to find NONE of them! I looked all over the tank, under rocks, sand, plants, bog wood etc..... I finally found them in my filter. ...

Zipper pics
Here are a few pics of my Zipper Loach. He decided to come out of his cave and let me get a few shots of him. Not an easy fish to photograph as he is fast! A few of the shots (3rd & 4th) were just after a bloodworm feast so he looks a bit plump! :D http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f170/munkee1/025-...
