Re: Comparing Botia histrionica, kubotai and almorhae
personally i'd go with B.histrionica.. Mine were more active during the day than any of the other species I've kept and my personal favourite out of the three.

Re: Botia kubotai reproducing in planted tank
hello there congrats on the fish breeding but I would be heavily inclined to say that the fry are actually fry from one of your hillstream Loaches.. Do you happen to know the ID of your other Hillstreams as they are either the parents or the Sewellia are.. More photos will definitely help. Great if ...

Re: A very angry loach problem.
You broke one of the fundamental rules of fish keeping.. Don't buy a fish without researching first... !!!!!!!!! A year on and despite all the reading you have done in attempting to calm down this fish you still haven't managed to actually Identify it?? How you can you research methods of calming it...

Re: Reticulated Loach Egg Bound
Is she the only one of her kind in there? If not and you have stocking capacity then add about 10 or so of her species and with luck she'll release the eggs in the frenzy.. That is assuming she is egg bound and not carrying an internal growth, although lookking at the pic she is egg bound. Water cha...

Re: Advise with My Imperial loaches.
Not suitable for keeping with Clown Loach.. prefer cooler waters and could eventually pose a threat to smaller Clown Loach and other fish..

Re: Looking for a singular loach.
What about a group of Micronemacheilus cruciatus.. Similar in behaviour to the Sids but a little bit more unusual. Other than that there aren't really any suitable Loaches that will do.. nearly all are social to some extent and the ones that aren't need much bigger quarters to reside.

Re: Close up snaps of my fish
Nice fish there.. The Clowns are impressive as always but that Modesta is a chunky bugger for sure.. Rare to see these at their full size. I've had a 6" SL Modesta in the past and my current largest is around 5" and just chunking out now rather than growing in length.

Re: goldfish and loach
I know a couple of people who have tried it and it has worked but in those cases they had large Goldfish and in a very large tank. The Goldfish were around 6" in diameter and solid built. The Loaches were a group of 6 and I believe this helped as they mostly kept to themselves. When i kept fancy Gol...

I'm definitely in agreement with Diana and Bully. B.kubotai would very soon outgrow the tank you currently have and ideally a tank at least twice the size would be ideal for a group of these. They would get along fairly well with the Zebra Loach in a tank of say 50-60 uk gallons and ideally long and...
