Re: Nemacheilus anguilla spawn
Thanks all.
Nancy,
I have somewhere between 15-20 of them. Till date have been able to count till 17. As they grow, it becomes hard to figure numbers as they are more active. Will be shifting them to a 2footer in next 10days. So will have a better count in the process

Nemacheilus anguilla spawn
I have been keeping Nemacheilus anguilla since April 2009 (caught during a collection trip ). Males usually used to get quite colorful after water changes. Unusual thing was, this time it was nearly a week since water change. But the temperature had dropped to 21C in the tank and I saw this happen o...

Its Pangio sp for sure. The size information might not always be accurate. example - Nemacheilus anguilla - its given that the max size is 2". I have 3 which are longer than that. Maybe I will see for a year more on how much they grow and then suggest that information to be updated. Probably such in...

Once again excellent photos :D I really like the look of the Schistura semiarmatus :P I too like Schistura semiarmatus. Below is the snap of one caught in 2009. Posting both for comparison. At present this guy/gals caudal peduncle is roughly a centimeter wide. Then http://www.imgx.org/files/35351_t...

Thanks Madd duff and zenins Glad that its helping you. The purpose of these trips is the same, to study their natural conditions and spread the knowledge among other hobbyists. I second Bully's opinion. Dissolved oxygen is more important. In their natural hibitat, temperature varies a lot in seasons and also in a single day. It can vary between lower 20's till 31-32C. Usually the shallows get hot during summer and then fishes move to deeper waters. So temperature between 2...

Matt - The loach in the initial snaps might not be Schistura nilgiriensis and most likely Schistura nagodiensis. But we do have few IDed S nilgiriensis - will be posting them once photographs are taken. Actually we were quite confused with these two and on a second trip, Nayak, Madhu and others went...

I have had ghost shrimps with yoyos without any problem. But never saw shrimplets. The shrimps used to be frequently berried but guess the small ones were food for other fishes. The adult shrimps fight pretty well when it comes to food. I have also had indian dwarf shrimps in the same tank with Schi...
