Re: How to teach (hillstream) loaches to eat veggies?
They only eat algae in the tank and I am afraid the aufwuchs(micro organisms in the algae) won't be enough to sustain all of them. I fear it's also the reason why most of my P.cheni fry died. They refuse to eat veggie pellets or anything else for that matter. The MTS gets to it in a few hours and I...

Re: Sewellia spotted or albisuera?
Hi Certainly not S. albisurea and probably not S. sp SEW01. I see three possibilities: one is a species described by Nguyen 2005 - there we know nothing about or S. sp SEW01 has some variants in patterning, which I dont believe, as head-shape is different too. And third: hybrid which is possible for...

[quote="f1sleepy"]Is it not protomyzon pachychilus?
[quote]
Exact name is Yaoshania pachychilus. ´Protomyzon` never was the right genus name. Protomyzon are endemic to Borneo.

Re: Identification goby help
Hi It's a loach from China and since December 2012 named Yaoshania pachychilus. It was temporarly put into ' Protomyzon ' by M. Kottelat because it was clear that it doesn't belong to Protomyzon, endemic to Borneo. Yaoshania is a new genus with one species. As the species is highly endangered by hum...

Tanichthys sp "Vietnam"
Hi all the mistery about the "yellow" Tanichthys is solved. In AMAZONAS 41 Mai/June 2012 Ingo Seidel shows pics of the new species, pics of eggs and fry inclusive. The species has been found by Mikael Hakànson/Imazo and Saigon Aquarium in 2009 Da Nang province in Vietnam. Specimen have been exported...

Re: Tanichthys thacbaensis-new white cloud species
nice looking specimen indeed, Jim. But all in all: regarding the fact that the "yellow" tanichthys on the stock lists have never been delivered to Emma or to Germany is not a good answer to the question if t. thacbaensis or not. the fact that two pics are to be seen of the "new" species, once as t. ...

Re: Tanichthys thacbaensis-new white cloud species
my try is going on by now, Emma. If you look at the lists it's not a shame to order to many loaches and bettas. hope I didn't do the same "error".
