It's a shame they are African at all :)

Such a shame I can't use these beatiful fish in a Loach biotope.

They are very rare in Holland as well, so great find.

Good luck with them.

I've got at least 20 of these great fish.
Most where in the same state as yours are now.

I've had great sucses with 'Sera vipan baby'.
They seem to love it, and its the right size.

Very small live foods will work as well.

Good luck

Like I said, 26 to 28 is on the hot side for Striatas.

B. Histrionica do nt get very large (13cm or so) and do like the higher temp.

I dont think striatas are the best Loach for a Discus-tank.

If memory serves me correctly, discus are kept at high temp.
Around 30 degrees C right?

Striatas dont like anythink above 26.

Active carbon does remove any fertiliser you might add.

Other than that, there is no problem combining carbon with co2.

Are you sure you want hillstream loaches??? Because there is almost no way you can combine them with Clowns. Simply because clowns love warm water, and hillies really want cold water. This is especially true because you don't exactly know wich species your lfs is stocking. Find that out first before...

Hi Charles, I must apologise to the master then. :) Fritzzl looks very much like this one from your post: http://lh5.ggpht.com/__5ixipS42do/Sxas5MVO7dI/AAAAAAAAB-A/zDRwXsRkK4I/s640/65548.jpg Its just that the markings are so well defined and the colours so bright that still put a doubt in my mind. It is definitly not a zebrinus. (unless young zebrinus have very different markings) It is in a tank with zebrinus now, and they are so different. Also the blue colour is more to the green then the zebrinus. I thought it was one to, until I saw them side by side. It is in Catsandfish hillstream tank...
