Re: Went from Ich to this! Please help find out what this is
He was so bad that he wasn't able to swim.... he just kept swirling. It just got worse so when I took him in the man at the store said that he wasn't going to pull through so I decided to take the guy up on the offer of "putting him to sleep". He did it with clove oil I think he said and vodka. I gu...

Went from Ich to this! Please help find out what this is!
Ok so I have been batting a nasty ich infestation. I treated for a week and a half with Kordan Ich Attack. Wasn't helping and it just got worse. So then I tried upping the temp to currently 84-86 degrees. I also added 50% of recomended salt (so like 1tbsp per 10 gallons). And because I had to do som...

Re: Coppersafe for ich? And salt?
Thank you. Will the heat kill it or just keep it from reproducing? Because I mean if I turn the tank down in a week after the ich falls off him... isn't there a chance it could come back? It is up to 82 but I turned the heater up another "click" a while ago. So it should go to 84 before their "bedti...

Re: Coppersafe for ich? And salt?
Well last night I added a 60% dose of the coppersafe... I litterally had to do something! And I only added 1/2 the dose for salt as I read (on like a billion pages) that plecos are sensitive to salt. When I woke up the loach seemed fine, still covered in ich... but fine. He is still happy and playfu...

Coppersafe for ich? And salt?
Ok I have had ich for about a week and a half... I started treating with Koardon Ich Attack (it worked wonderfuly before) well it sucked this time around and my clown loach has only gotten worse. He is happy and swimming but he is covered in ich (I feel like a horrible fish mom!) so today I broke do...

Re: One More Reason NOT to Release Aquarium Fish
Animal Planet did this whole segment FL monsters and on it they said it was released by people. Maybe I got mixed up or they did... I mean Animal Planet did make a thing about mermaids (another topic lol). Anywho in the segment they talked about how it had a bad impact because there were no other "b...

Re: Aquarium light/bubbler question
Thank you for replying. When I bought him the guy at petco said he would be fine alone... then I got home and read up on them and I do plan to get at least two more but at the moment I am battling ich (ugh) so I want to wait till everything i cleared up and then give him some time to relax. He does ...

Re: Newbie with Ich and clown loach... please help

Re: Newbie with Ich and clown loach... please help
The Api is the only brand I have tried and liked. I am going to try Prime though. I bought the tetra at target (the only one they have and I was already there so I was like "hey we can try it") I do not like it because my fish act "less playful" when I use it... like it doesn't work. I found some ba...

Re: One More Reason NOT to Release Aquarium Fish
We live in a little community by a golf course that has a kinda large (for a residental) lake... there are houses backed up to parts of it and some open areas... anyways they stock the lake with fish (it is catch and release ONLY)... this past summer I guess someone found a HUGE Pleco about 2 foot l...

Aquarium light/bubbler question
I bought a 29 gallon tank for my son about 2 and a half months ago... the tank is in a little "nook" in his playroom. The playroom does have a window- the tank however does not get direct sunlight. Because of where the room is and window is most of the day the cealing fan light is ON and so are some...

Re: Ich and unidentified tiny organisms
I started treating the tank with Kordon Ich Attach and have been following the instructions on the bottle. I have been treating for a week. I also raised the temp in the tank from 78 to 84, but this is hard to maintain as my house is cold and drafty in the winter. I have Ich on my Clown loach too.....
