Re: Botia Kubotai
Here in Brisbane, Australia, the Kubotai are hard to find and normally go from AUD $30 to $50 each. --- That's $26-45 USD The same goes for Dwarf Chain loaches and Striata, Histrionica and Rostrata ---- all hard to find and expensive if you find them. Fortunately they can occasionally be found in g...

Re: Botia Kubotai
Hi, It probably depends largely on where you are. I live in New Zealand and expect to pay $17-$19 ($14-15US) for a juvenile between 4-6cm. But in NZ, everything is expensive  $15 ($12US) guppies for pity's sake... Wow. Thanks for the input. I'll be talking to my lfs soon, probably tomorrow if...

Botia Kubotai
Hey everyone, I'm getting my new 55gal this weekend and I will be building my stand + bracing the floor as soon as possible to get it cycled around Christmas. I've been calculating costs and the only fish I haven't been able to find pricing for are kubs. I've read around and heard around $8 when the...

Pangio Cuneovirgata
Just a few questions about these guys, info is a little scarce from what I can tell.
A) Are these guys basically like kuhlis (pangio kuhlii)?
B) Are they expensive or fairly inexpensive?
C) Where can I find them?
D) Will they work with kuhlis, kubotai, and small dither tetras?

Re: Plants for the lazy loach owner.
anubias, and crypts are very easy plants that do well in most light set-ups, and do not require ferterilzers. they are also slow growers so you won't need to trim them often. hygrophila is another easy to grow plant species, that doesn't require ferts. they can grow rather quickly and require more ...

Re: Will a larger Pleco kill/eat smaller fish??
I put 3 small red serpae tetras in a tank with larger serpae, a couple of fruit tetras (fairly large), some neons, a glowlight tetra and 2 clown loaches. There is also a pleco that is 5-6" long (I think!). The new red serpae tetras went missing 2 days after introducing them in the 45 gal. tank. Sev...

Plants for the lazy loach owner.
Starting a 55g soon, and I plan on having some cheap, hardy, and low-maintenance plants. I have never done live plants and I would love to have some that I really don't need to add anything to the water for or something like that. Stock list: Polka-Dot Loach / Botia Kubotai x5 Black Kuhli Loach / Pa...

Re: 55 Gallon Stocking
I've had Kubotai with kuhlis and Yoyos with Kuhlis and would definately go with Nancy's suggestion as I believe my yoyos actually ate my Kuhli loaches. At the moment I have Kubotai with black Kuhlis and they don't bother each other at all. It's reassuring to hear that, I knew that they were smaller...

Re: 55 Gallon Stocking
Well, I see a few problems for your 55g stocking. Yoyos get a little too big to keep a group of 6 & they are a bit too boisterous for kuhlis. Have you looked at histrionicas? They are similarly colored to yoyos but a bit smaller & more mellow. Kubotai have a nice size & reputation for a group of 6....

55 Gallon Stocking
Hey everybody. I'm getting a nicely priced 55gal(w/ heater + hood/light) and I was doing research the other night for stocking and I came across loaches. I love loaches, that's all I really need to say! Clowns aren't really for me, I love Black Kuhlis (would like even amount of banded and solid col...
