As long as there are a few caves or other hiding places the Loaches should be fine. Mine do not bother the tankmates, including a Synodontis, several species of Rainbowfish and an African Brown Knife. There are caves and arcs of driftwood in there, as well as so many plants I cannot see the back of ...

Lovely tank! Dittoe everyone else, yes, Loaches hide, yours may very well be just fine, but better safe than sorry, lift that stump. Good excuse to vacuum the poop out from under it, anyway. Dead fish in the stump will rather quickly make the tank smell like a dead fish. Ammonia can rise quite a bit...

The Eclipse system does not offer great possibilities for adding such lights. The lids are well sealed, and the humidity builds up in there (not good for electric), and there is not much room to add a bulb or anything. Try it, it does not take much, especially if you have access to the little LED li...

Hi, welcome fishccer I do not know what the active ingredients are in the med you list. Generally it is better to treat in your quarantine tank, even if you have to keep the little Danios in a large jar for a week or so. (do not neglect them, add a sponge filter, keep the temperature stable...) Make...

Aquariums should not smell like that. There is definitely something wrong. Activated Carbon can help to remove the smell, but the source must be located and eliminated. A healthy tank has a very slight smell, mine have a lot of plants, and the tanks smell like a healthy, growing garden. Not fishy at...

Please also test and post KH (carbonate hardness/alkalinity) and GH (General Hardness) test results. In tanks with no carbonates the pH can fluctuate. While pH changes in themselves seem not to be much of a problem the other chemistry changes that can be linked to pH can be a problem. If the KH and ...

Pics will always be welcome, either to boast (and you have a lot to boast about) or for ID purposes. Lets find out what that 'Giraffe Cat' is! I see at least 2 tanks here: The Rams and Neons are not going to be happy in a tank with as much water movement as the Loaches like. I would plan the 75 with...

Hey Ruby! You missed a 'spot'! Sorry- couldn't resist! Bichers are predators. Mine have eaten all the Guppy fry when they were young. When they got started on the Guppy parents I moved them to a tank with nothing smaller than they were. They are escape artists, though, and in spite of screening the ...
