For the most part I agree with the above. But I am one of the few who are mixing them. Even though I have successfully kept them together in my 75g now for about two years, realize that my biggest clown is about 6" and all the rest in the 3-5" range mostly, and they have grown up in the tank. If you...

Gravity drains are a little different. Reef sites will have tons more info since thats pretty much the norm there. You can search for overflow calculators like: http://www.aquariumpros.ca/modules.php?name=Overflow_Drain_Calculator (just a calculator) http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-07/gt/inde...

I would have to agree either get the zebra more companions (4 more at lthe minimum) or try to trade him at the lfs for other fish you want, or find some other local hobbyists that might have zebras. They really do much better amongst buddies. Just to give you a little story, when I was newer in the ...

One thought I had, which would include the origin, would be the ability to search / organize the species list by one of many different 'categories'. I know this would be very difficult but just an idea. It would probably require some fancy database programming. Basically, you could select among the ...

Yeah glasscages had the suction cup handles when helping me offload the tank into my truck. But I never got around to seeing if I could get my hands on some locally... but I couldnt fully utilize them anyhow since I painted the back of the tank and either they wouldnt stick at all or would pull up t...

For the stand, if you cant get enough folks to help the move, you could get some wheeled cart/dolleys (sorry unsure of the exact name) designed for weight. All youd have to do is tip up one end and slide it under, then the other end. of course that only works well if its all flat and no stairs :wink...

Lisa, I work with fish as a student researcher at a department renowned for its 'stress in fish' research, and even though I don't have much time (as I'm running an experiment) I can say this too you.... Stress in fish is not easily observed. It's actually very difficult and to be accurate in any w...

Very nice! 8) I think your stand is going to be heavier than mine! Well at least with the stand its not going to shatter if you accidentally drop it going into the house... not so sure about the floor though lol. (BTW I know someone who recently dropped a new custom built starphire tank on its move ...

Sorry Jones if you were expecting some answers, I missed that you posted. If you do not have to prime the pumps then they are positive displacement which is "1st class" for your application. I'm not familiar with that term. But what I can say is that they are a diaphragm type pump designed for very ...

Yeah but the point was to get em for cheaper  I was going to email him about if there was a price break if I got a few of them... then I read the part about a $40 minimum order anyway so I figured he wouldnt be interested in a discount for an order around his minimum anyhow... If I do setup a ...

Even the Aqualifter could move more than that (at least under low head pressure). But thats about all I can think of, except for peristaltic pumps which are often used for things like dosers since they can more accurately dose very small amounts.

Nice fish! Turquoise rainbows are probably my favorite rainbow... I had a few a while ago along with some other rainbows. But they seem to have an even higher o2 demand than most botias. I had an incident once where at night when o2 is low in my tank (planted tank) my supplimental nightime powerhead...

There was another brief thread with a few pics, I posted some pics of mine in it http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=6628&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 As for your pic I bet if you cropped it down to just the one fish and either auto level it or manually bump the levels/contrast you could m...
