Re: Recreating natural habitat - River Tank variation
The River-Tank manifold design has been used successfully in the breeding of several non-loach fish species. Basically any rheophilic fish should feel more at home with a one-way current. For Dwarf Cichlids I would keep the powerheads quite small as too much flow might be hard on the fry when they'r...

Re: Help!!!! Re-Sealing an Aquarium
Now I'm assuming that if it's intended for turtles then you will not be filling the thing right up, correct? This means that the internal water pressure will not be as high as the thing being full. That all helps. I've repaired smaller tanks before, but never done a whole pane replacement. When you ...

Love the tank design. They seem somewhat reclusive.

Re: Arrowana.
Thank you for your reply Martin, I think they look so graceful and beautiful. A friend of a friend of mine has apparently just purchased one and he claims it's growing at an inch a week! I imagine a fair sized tank is required to house such a fish. Is it a species that you have ever considered keep...

Re: I lost my baby sewellia!!!
That's tough news Jim. All these hang-on filters to varying extents share the same attraction to current-loving fish. My Gold Nugget Plecs were all trying to get into the Aquaclear 300 on the end of the tank shortly after I got them. After a while they lost interest. Obviously, sucker-bodied hillies...

Quite possibly Pangio alternans.
Look at this thread: http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php ... &view=next
It took some searching, but I found this, the bible of Pangio

Ok, those look like Botia rostrata. It's often quite difficult to tell the species apart when they are little. They look nice and healthy.

Re: Golden Nugget Pleco
Looking very nice, Martin. I for 1 will never forget your super deal. Do you still have them all? I lost 1 after a couple of days, but the others are all doing excellently in with the Discus. In the 6 foot 120 they have plenty of room to get away from one another so there's only the occasional skir...
