Flame tetra problem
I added 5 flame tetras in one of the tanks I take care of (45g bow front) about 2 mos. ago. The tank has done well, w/ several clown loaches, a variety of tetras and a large pleco. Everyone has been eating good, including the larger fruit tetra (he was slow to feed!), but yesterday, I noticed one fl...

Braces for a bow front aquarium
I may have asked this before, in a different post, but I am not sure!! :) I need some kind of brace, to go from the front of a tank to the back, to try to pull the front and back together. These are 45 gal bow front aquariums, by All-Glass, and the support pieces on the top frames have broken. The f...

Re: Needing adlvice on clown loach!
Well, all is well! I looked under the tank and saw the little stinker, right by the corner of the lift tube. I removed the tube, used a flashlight and he went right up and out!! Joined the other clowns and ate greedily!
Thanks for your help!!

Needing adlvice on clown loach!
When checking out the aquariums today I was in a near panic, with one of the clown loaches missing!!!!! I thought maybe he had died and one of the nurses or housekeepers taking the little body out of the aquarium! I was broken-hearted and then, thought I would check one more place! I looked down a l...

Re: Help on clown loach setup
"Loachorgy", you have scared the crap out of me with your story of the clowns eating you catfish!!!! Yikes! That makes me wonder if my 3 are OK with a larger pleco! I think he's tougher than the catfish, but his eyes are right there for them to attack!! They are still smaller (almost 2" I would say)...

My Favorite Tank w/ Clowns!
As I stated in a newbie post, a while back, I have 3 clown loaches in a 45 bow front tank. They are doing fantastic, so far, and this is my favorite tank of the 5 that I am taking care of!! This establishment has soft water and I am wondering if that is OK with these fish. I have understood that mos...

Re: Fairly new, newbie with question on filters
Plaalye, the cross pieces are missing, totally, on 2 or 3 aquariums!! If you add a piece, do you need to do that to the ends, also, so you have an even surface for the glass top to sit on? Otherwise, I am thinking the tops will tip, one way ro the other.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Fairly new, newbie with question on filters
Plaaye, doesn't the powerhead basically mimic the undergravel filter, but, with more power! What I have found tho', is that the undergravel filters that in these tanks do not have the shape of the tank (bow front) and does extra filtration from the powerhead make it more efficient? Also, someone had...

Re: New To the Forum!
Hello! I have not been on for awhile, but wanted to let you know that my loaches are doing good and growing! They are really funny when I feed them! One will take off with the algae disc in his mouth, claiming HIS prize, I would say! Also, I see that one kind of shoves the others to the side when ea...

Fairly new, newbie with question on filters
Hi! I joined this group a couple of months ago, because had questions about clown loaches. I had boughjt 3 loaches and put them in a 45 gal. tank. I haven't been on much, since the initial posting as I work nights and don't have a brain!! I had started taking care of 5 45 gal bow front tanks...

Thank you, loachlover!! Why is the aquari-sol not made any more?? It seems with many meds, once you get one that works well, it's aken off the market! Sigh. I will let you know!

Re: New To the Forum!
WOW! What great tips! Thank you so much! I will look for the products that have been recommended! I have heard of aquari-sol and will have to see it's available. I may have to do ordering on line and checking with the companies, before hand, to see if they will sell with someone that is tax-exempt. ...

Re: New To the Forum!
Thanks for the input! I truly appreciate it!! The impellers move on the power heads, but rather slowly, in the initial checking. There is quite a bit of buildup in the hole where the impeller goes, so I am hoping with a little vinegar to break that up, things will improve. I worry about getting new ...

Hi! My name is Paula and I have taken over the care of 5 - 45 gal. bow front aquariums at a veterans home! While I used to own a pet/fish store, I am a bit rusty on some things! I am getting that tanks into shape, as they had been neglected for a while (not sure how long), with algae growing, a few ...
