A littel update.
I have added a Ehaim oxygen diffuser to get the water more river like. Gladely the fish likes it very much.
And ohh I think I have made a mistake, I have added 4 Puntinus denisonsii. But they are very small. Infact it where my girlfriends idea and I agreed if she cloud promise that I can get a bigger tank later this year. Damn nice.
new movie of the tank

Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
Well a few days ago I went to the petstore, and they had 18 large sids. And offcause I got them with me home. I now have 18 in my tank,
You can have a look of them here
Sometimes they are fighting in the background you can see it here
Is that normal behavoir for the sids. Í have never seen this behavoir with the ones I have in the tank before the 18 new ones arived.

Very nice. They are so cute.
Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
That is a lot of fish. What size is the tank? I fear you may be well overstocked at this point. That appears to be an aweful lot of fish for anything less than a 100 gallon tank.

Hi
Well you are right. I have a 85 gallons on the way that will be replace my pressent tank. I will keep my pressent tank and leve some of the fish there, I was planing on moving the desisonsi, sids, and midows.
Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
Sounds like a solid plan. Your fish should be nice and happy then!
Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
Pentazona barbs are naturally a shy fish, give them lots of cover and somewhat subdued lighting and that should make them feel more confident. I have a group of 9 in my densely planted 29 gallon and they are very outgoing in there. I worked for a lfs for several years and have seen a lot of people have similar problems with them.
Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
I wouldn't keep dennisonii barbs in less than a 4ft tank. Mine were still a bit nervous in a 55g (4ft x 1 ft) but less in a 75g (4ft x 1.5 ft)...spectacular fish when not jumpy...
Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.
So I have moved the sids, hower loaches, Rosaline sharks and minnows in to the new tank. A 86 gallons.
In the further I will replace the minnows maybe with Rasbora dorsiocellata or some other Rasbora that swims in the surface area.
I have shoot those to movie clips. But I really need some feedback.
