Emma, Shari, you both gave brilliant advice on how to get rid of my whitespot and ich which I have followed and at the moment it appears to be working wonders. One question though and that is I raised the temperature to 85 which all in the tank seem happy with but when do I start reducing it and what is the best temperature to keep the tank at.

Start reducing 3-5 days after ALL spots are gone. You can do smallish water changes with SLIGHTLY cooler water as you lower the temp like 1 degree a day by turning down your heater. I keep my clowns with angels and they like a warmer temp so their tank is at 81F. If I wanted the angels to breed I'd up it to 82F, but I don't  I think clowns will tolerate lower temps too, but mine like the 80's. Someone else should probably chime in on this with temps.

And thanks for the thanks. Mean alot. 8)

Yes, thank you for your kind words Baz, and I'm glad all now seems well in your tank. :D
I keep my Clown Loach aquarium at 82 degrees F.
