Hard Water Loaches?

Post by jenricae » Wed Jan 11, 2006 10:45 pm

Does anyone know any loaches that prefer hard water and PH of 7.8-8?

They just come from the wrong part of the world for water like that. There may be some species out there that would thrive, but not the common ones that turn up in the shops, IMO.

Water like that could be great for some cichlids. There are amazing fish that will suit your water, and that might be the better way to look at it - go with what you've got already. Just my opinion.

It's a pity that softening water for the aquarium is so much more difficult than making the water harder.
Your vantage point determines what you can see.
