New kuhli ID

Post by cdirus » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:20 am

Hi all,
I just got 3 new kuhlis for my 20H this week from a new pet store in town. I just assumed that they were the 'standard' stripped kuhli, however I don't think they are. I have posted pictures of the three on shutterfly at http://howlingwolf.shutterfly.com/872

I think that both 'whiteside' and 'thinstripe' might be P. alternans, but I don't know about 'spotback'. I'm thinking it might be P. myersi, but the images on the species page don't appear to have any branching stripes (stripes being the yellow bands, it's easier for me to describe them that way).

All three are small (about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long) and thin and were not very cooperative when I tried to take pictures.

Thanks,
Cdirus
