Post by garyg » Wed Apr 01, 2015 6:21 am

Good day to all you fish people.

I am from South Africa and have been keeping fish off and on for as long as i can remember.
Currently I am running 7 tanks and looking for inspiration for the next ( a 220 liter- my first planted low tech maybee)

In the fish room there is a 600 liter and a 250 liter with an assortment of loaches and others.
600 liter:
4 blue (modesta), 4 clown, 2 yoyo, 1 skunk, 5 zebras, 2 schistura(sumo loach), 3 schistura (redtail loach), 4 Blood fin tetras,1 featherfin synodontis, 2 red tail sharks, 1 rainbow shark, 3 panda corys, 4 albino cories and a crew of MT snails who only work night shift.

I will try to get more pics.

The 250 liter has playsand substrate and in there are 2 horse face loaches, 2 polkadot, 4 yoyo's, 2 gouramis, 3 julie cories, 4 bronse cories, 14 assorted kuhli loaches, 2 sterbai cories, and 1 rainbow shark.

Then there is the 350 liter brackish tank
3 F8 puffers, 6 Knight gobies, 2 silver scats and 1 red scat[http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah2 ... 0ebagi.jpg][/http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah2 ... wydifi.jpg]

Hillstream tank 250 liter with sump just waiting for some hilstream loaches, having difficulty getting them at the moment only one tiny swella.

Welcome to the forum! Nice pictures. You've got quite an interesting mix going. I hope you can find some hillstreams, they're some of my favorites.

Thanks yes quite a mix but I am in the process of building a 1000 liter DIY Plywood / fiberglass aquarium for the loaches most of the others (sharks, syndontis, etc) will be moved to more appropriate tanks as most of them have been given to me so not something I would buy.

I am looking at doing some sort of loach biotope, speccially for those potentially big ones (clowns & modestas) in a nice big tank.
