Has the forum considered Breeding Reports as a site function

So, I was on Planet Catfish the other day as I got some new catfish (Scleromystax kronei) and wanted to learn more about them. They have a helpful list of who on the site is keeping and who has bred a particular catfish. I thought since loach breedings are becoming more frequent but still not common having a similar function for loaches would be a great asset to those of us who would like to try to breed our loaches.
Any thoughts?

Clearly a great idea, but like all ideas it needs somebody to implement it!

I don't know if the "forum" has considered the idea. It seems just to roll on and on. The guys who made that work are far away and won't start such a list for shure. Similar lists exist in specialised communities, but not for loaches, not even in Germany. Some specialists make part of BSSW

As you can see on
www.seriouslyfish.com we try to keep the profiles on current status, which is a lot of work already.
Regarding S. kronei: some breeders here (Switzerland) have bred them. Easier than S. barbatus I heard.

A word to lists: they may help when it comes to exchange of specimen of rare species or eggs. After some 50 years in the hobby I still prefer personal contact, which is not very difficult nowadays. One reason is: I can ask questions

That would be great if we had the people to do it. Unfortunately, many of the former moderators have moved on and the remaining ones (or one
) simply don't have to time for such an undertaking . Its a sad reality.

The fact is, that most sites are a bit "starving". I'm not so sad about it, as for about ten years there has been a lot of "flow" in the hobby and hobbyist could benefit. At least German speaking hobbyist did great work, breeding Annamia normani, Yaoshania pachychilus, Liniparhomaloptera disparis, Erromyzon sp "red spot", Gastromyzon lepidogaster, Chromobotia macranthus and Sewellias. All documented in periodicals. Not to forget the successes in breeeding gobies. All without stock-lists.
On the other hand it is evident, that those lists help to preserve species - in the hobby. Catfish, Killis, Labyrinthfish.
But that's more or less the work of "freaks"

Actually I have a solution for you guys if you are interested ... I have a domain designed for doing just this, simply do not have time, but the idea is to collect breeding info for loaches and gobies.
It is becoming increasingly clear that I will not do this myself -- too many other things to do -- but either of you is welcome to take over.
If interested, let's talk in PM.
I'll show what this is.
