They are Philippine souvenirs as follows.

Lentipes armatus? or Lentipes.sp?
Though a head is surely red, it may be to be Lentipes armatus.
They seem to like fast flowing streams in particular in an upper basin.

Sicyopus cebuensis.
It is the first time that I look.
They inhabit the upper reaches of the river.
As for the male of the nuptial coloration, a lower part of the body becomes bright red.

Their colors of the body are very various.

Stiphodon atropurpureus inhabits the deeply slow flows more than 1m.
Stiphodon surrufus inhabits the shallow, fast flow less than 50cm.

Stiphodon surrufus,Sicyopus zosterophorum,Sicyopus cebuensis,Lentipes armatus and Sicyopterus.lagocephalus.
These fish classes seem to inhabit the mountain stream of upper reaches.
Stiphodon atropurpureus inhabits the midstream of the river.
Sicyopterus.longifilis inhabits wide area from the upper basin to a sea mingled with fresh water.

Hi everyone!

I traveled to Indonesian Bali at the beginning of May.
Because the water of many rivers was muddy, there was not much underwater photography,
but was able to watch the Lentipes genus that it was unusual.

I went to Fiji in my summer vacation.

Because I thought that Stiphodon rutilaureus was a common species in Fiji, I recognized these to be S.rutilaureus.
However, the judgment may be rash.
The fins of the individual of my pictures are deep-black, and a pattern peculiar to S.rutilaureus is not in sight.
The male tail and dorsal fin of the Stiphodon genus sometimes turn into black and delete a design of the groundwork.
I think that these are nuptial coloration of S.rutilaureus, but may not be so.
Since it seems that other Stiphodon.sp also inhabits Fiji, it may be other species of the Stiphodon genus.

I asked whether these fish was living in this river to villagers.
Their answer was "yes".


We walked the riverside for around 30 minutes.


Then We arrived at a wonderful waterfall.
Other people swam, but I took a photo underwater.
Only some good pictures came out because there was not enough time there.


I enjoyed diving mainly in Fiji.

Gorgeous photos!! I just discovered this thread.

This is my first time keeping gobies in a rimless tank and I put a mesh over the tank because I heard they are "jumpers". Does anyone know if this is true?
