Hi, ch.koening!
Unfortunately, I don't know Rhinogobius at all.
I have not raised the fish species of Rhinogobius genus yet.
The distinction of Rhinogobius is very difficult.
Name of the species of more than 10 kinds of Rhinogobius exists in Japan. But it's only 2 kinds that the scientific name is decided about.
Though it's the commonplace fish species, scientists can't also decide about the scientific name after a long study.
Even if those DNA analyses are performed, a simple solution isn't obtained. Therefore their scientific name is left in a condition of decision reservation.
Man has tried to classify a creature by the appearance, but it may be the one it's better to divide among the smell actually.
