My Garra flavatras

Post by Mikaila31 » Wed Jan 13, 2010 1:20 am

I got these cute guys over a month ago. They have come a long way since I first got them. There are 6 in all and they are currently 2-2.5" long. The tank is a 15gal setup only for them, they do share it with lots of cherry shrimp. I hope to eventually breed them. I think they are a little small right now.

Let me know what you think! Any suggestions to make the layout more like their natural habitat? breeding tips?

Thanks

Nice fish, but the tank is a little too small for them. Have you read this, very good info on these:

I love G. flavatras and getting 5more tomorrow, have 3 already.

I almost bought one a while back. They're so beautiful, I just have to have one some day.

Nice dark looking fish you got there.

Is used to have 3 of them as well, brilliant behavior.
A bit to present and active for me...
I gave them to my cousin, they are very happy in a rivertank now :D

Mine did not eat my Cristal-blacks at all.

The case might be te same with cherry-shrimp.

I don't think they touch the cherries. There are 50-70 shrimp in there and they are quite bold and breeding.

I was wondering tank size. I will work on figuring out how to get a larger tank for them. At least their 15gal is 2'x1'x1'. I think they will be fine in this for a while, do to their size and so far they have not been very territorial to each other. If need be I can move them to a 55gal. Where they can meet my adult caecilians. My first G. flavatras got along great with them. They where really cute together <3.
