My Black Ghost Knife
He's really turning into a darling. He lives in my tank with clown loaches, yoyo loaches and a variety of others. I feed him regularly though my loaches are now competing for the bloodworms and have learned to race up while he's eating to steal the ones that accidentally bypass him as I squirt them out of my turkey baster. They even learned to stick their noses up into the baster to grab bloodworms. Smart little guys. Anyway, here's a cool pick of my Black Ghost. His name is Spot because he's got a spot near the end of his tail. He's now 8 1/2 inches long. They've learned to dive through this little area where Spot hides and always dash right past him at full speed. I sometimes think they enjoy the thrill of diving past him like it's some sort of thrill ride. Grin.

Thanks. I've been growing him for about a year and a half. He started out only being like 3 inches long. I suspect the hikari protein food I'd given him made him grow super fast. Now he's on frozen brine shrimp and blood worms.

That's a lovely fish, and he looks like he is smiling.

Nice picture! Mine (BGK) hides behind some rocks, too.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.
Happy fish keeping!

That's a beautiful fish!
Any signs of aggression from the black ghost knife toward your smaller loaches?
I'm in the process of setting up a large loach tank and considering adding a knife to the mix, but it would be nice to know ahead of time how well I could expect it to do around my golden zebras, yoyos, and kubotais (I'm not too worried about the clown loaches).

If I added a ghost to small loaches, I would add a ghost smaller than all the loaches, make sure everyone has enough homes, and have the ghose grow up with the loaches. And keep an eye on them all. Keep everyone well fed.

I have never kept one, always admired them though. He or she is cool.
