it is my understanding that clown loaches enjoy dining on escargot, of which my 55gal community has an exploding population.
are ther other loaches that enjoy this delicacy?

Just about all of the botiid loaches will eat snails. Species of the genus Botia such as striata, rostrata, histrionica kubotai, etc. are particularly fond of snails. Trumpet snails are not as easy for them to eat, though and it will take longer to get them under control.
