Sick Dwarf Loach - Pale coloration, red gill area

Post by Soujirou » Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:12 am

I recently purchased a second batch of dwarf loaches (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki). Most of them seem to be doing well, except for one. It must have been hiding most of the time since I only saw it today. Basically it's coloration is not nearly as distinct as the other loaches, and it seems its gill area is red, or perhaps it is more translucent so it appears that way. I cannot find an illness that matches the symptoms in my books so I was hoping someone on these forums would be able to help me. Thanks.

Thank you for your help. The loach finally came out of hiding again and I did not notice any quick gill motion. On the plus side, its coloration is a lot stronger than before. It always goes up and down the side of my tank so I believe it may still be stressed out.
