Loach acting funny

Post by ja1100 » Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:05 am

My clown loach I noticed had developed ich last week, but he seemed to be ok he was eating an moving around well. I followed the instructions that came with the ich medicine and did water changes and raised the water temp. I did 2 treatments and then 24hours after the second I did another water change, and now he is acting funny. He is staying at the top and not eating or paying attention to anything.

Anyone know whats wrong?

The fish is probably fighting secondary infections and has some gill damage. When fish are recovering they don't deal well with any added stress. Osmotic stress can be caused by water changes. This can sometimes be to much for a weakened fish to overcome.
