help with white spot

Post by mungo » Fri Sep 26, 2008 1:40 am

Hi, can anyone help?
I added 4 baby clown loaches to my established tank (water paramenters amonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10) which had 3 larger clowns already in residence. within the day the babys had white shots which infected the others, I have been treating the tank with protozin using a half dose every 12 hours for 4 days then 1 day off and another day with 2 half doses. My question is there are still a small number of white spots on some of them so should i continue with protozin starting a new 6 day treatment or just continue everyday until the spots go.
I would appreciate any help to save my clowns
Thanks
Mungo

yes mate, carry on treatment until you see no spots at all.
personally i'm not a lover of protozin imo it's to weak a treatment.
i figure your in the US but in the UK we have a treatment made by King British called WS3, i've never found an equal to it for getting rid of spot.

Hi mungo,

If you'd post a general location it would help with treatment options.
Here's a post that might help:
