Sick Gold Dojo Loach

Post by trishygirl » Tue Feb 09, 2016 5:58 am

Hello all,

Does anyone have experience with a Dojo loach that develops a red patch on both sides of his tail. In the red patch it looks like blisters. Water quality is good in terms of ammonia and ph. I have treated him with 5 days of tetra lifeguard because I suspected hemorrhagic septicemia. Any help would be appreciated. I have a picture but not sure how to post it.

Could the fish have been hanging out around the heater? This usually does not show up on both sides, though. Heater burn is usually just one patch.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

He did hang around the heater sometimes. Unfortunately he died last week.
