Awesome! I'm sure you know which type of gravel they prefer. Sand doesn't work so well for spawning.

Going to post more pics later.

Yes. I had them spawning years ago but the population eventually crashed and I had a hard time finding more.
Unfortunately the only room I had for the new ones was in a tank with sand. But, I have put in a bowl with gravel in it and will see if that works.

I see. Pity. Only time I've seen these in a shop is when they specifically got them for me from the supplier.

It should work.. Just put a stone in it as well.

Yeah, I put a couple of flat stones in when I set it in the tank. So far not much interest but hopefully that will change.

So cute! Did you find anymore?

Jim, if you do not mind, where did you get your group?

I'm not home during the week so I don't know. I would think that there are more.

shuwae: I got mine at Aquarium World in Lafayette, Indiana. I got them in two different batches in the last couple of months.I think most of their suppliers are in Chicago.
This is the first time they or anyone else in my area has had them in a few years. I picked one up at The Aquarium in Knoxville, Tenn. a couple of years ago but it only lived a few months. I haven't looked on any online sites for awhile but since you live in California it would be easy to get a shipment from the Wetspot in Portland, Oregon if they have them.

Great looking s. atropurpureus and algae! I wish my tank grew that much green algae.
