Keep it in the family

Post by Emma Turner » Thu Sep 28, 2006 6:09 pm

Whilst at my parent's house yesterday, I managed to get a few pics of their loaches at feeding time, and thought I'd share:

The B. striata are very shy and this was the only decent photo I got of a couple of them (ignore the blurry cherry barb :P )....

The lovely B. histrionica....

This one has a really weird pattern but is the smallest of the bunch and is quite shy. This was the best I got, so I'll have to try again next time....

Bendy fish....

Hope you like them. :D Anyone else got family who keep loaches?

You said they were nice, but.............

Fabulous pictures....got to use some of those in the species profile. I absolutely love the "bendy fish" pic. Really has movement in it and captures something that lasts a millisecond.

Martin.

they are really sweet striata :D and Martin is right, the bendy fish picture is great.

no-one in my family has fish, but my mum has realised there's not much hope of grandchildren, so she has adopted my fish instead :? she worries about them if i go away and she looks after them, and seems to spend a while watching them to make sure they are ok. i dont think she'd like the amount of work full time though. my sister wont even go in a fish house in a zoo, or in a fish shop :?

Heheheh! Mark it is the other way round - the Striatas are pretty big and the cherry barb is normal size. It's just that as I took the pic, the cherry barb swan along the front of the tank (which is why it's out of focus) and the Striatas, which are further back in the tank, are in focus. They have 5 Striatas and all are a nice size, but they are all very secretive - especially when I get the camera out!
