Perfect, thank you I will look into all of this. I am quite liking the idea of a powerful internal filter combined with a powerhead for this shape and size of tank.

After some experimenting I use only Aquaclear powerheads. Other, admittedly similarly cheap brands were noisy with vibrations and suffered from short life and sticking when switched off for tank maintenance. Aquaclear seem free of these problems. I'd start at 10mg per fish per day and work from there. I would expect that value to be close to the ideal based on experiments conducted.

That's actually a very helpful starting point, thanks a bunch!! I'll experiment with a small size and see how it goes.

Hard to explain, their faces are all very cute and I love their overall shape. I think the shape of an animal makes it incredibly cute to me. I'm not that interested in mammals for that reason.
