since i added live plants i am having my first experience with snails
now i would like to add good snails eventually

one of the plants i bought had this egg sack on it

so for fun i put the plant by itself in a little tank and ...

how does everyone think a larger shrimp like a vampire shrimp will do with clowns

hope ya dont mind me asking what are the other fish in the tank?

prime did the job on the nitrites 0

and everyone is looking quite happy
did a 8g water change with NO salt ill do another one on Wednesday

i also added more live plants and 1 more piece of driftwood for hidey places

the 2nd i was watching died as well. the other 4 don't seem to be having any issues as of yet the one thing i do remember when they were added to the tank the 2 that died were the 2 that hid, standoffish and didn't interact with the rest of the tank.

my test kit on the nitrite gives me 0 .5 1.0 3.0 5.0 10.0 as reading indicators

the tank is about 6 months old and the water is very clear

i just happened to pick up some prime while i was at my lfs. while they were testing it.

when i do my weekly water changes i add tetra easy balance, stress ...

k according my test and the lfs test

nitrate between 20 - 40
nitrite 0 - .5
hardness between 75 and 150 closer to 150 so slightly hard water
alkalinity 80 - 120
ph 6.2 - 6.8
ammonia .25 - .5 (borderline stressful)
water temp is between 80 - 82

The lfs told me the water shouldn't be the problem so ...

within the next year i plan on adding a 150g -200g tank to the living room to act as a room divider

this is my second attempt at clown loaches and things are already looking better my first 2 when i added them to the tank hid and a log and stay there till they died :( a couple days later.
