Re: New Tank - Clown Loaches
OK so I forget about the UGF. Thanks 2mm gravel - prob almost have enough. Most of the 4' has a good depth of the gravel (except where the loaches are - they like to scoot it around a bit). I also have some more in a bucket in my store room. I bought too much initially. It will need a good clean, bu...

Re: New Tank - Clown Loaches
Thanks for the info redshark1 and chefkeith The location for the tank in either house is on the ground floor with easy access, so no trouble about hallways, corners, or stairs. Wanting the best for the fish though. Not too worried about not being able to reach into the tank. I had to get a replaceme...

New Tank - Clown Loaches
Hi I am in the planning stage of a new tank for my clowns. Wondering if someone can advise on the optimum tank dimensions for a new 6 foot. Still saving, but need to have dimensions to get a price. Also what is the best substrate. I have 2mm gravel now, is that ok or should I be going down to sand. ...

Wonderful tank and beautiful fish (especially the clowns – they are my favourites too). At present I have a 4 foot tank (1200mm x 465mm x 460mm high). It is about...

Re: cancel the panic
Hi Donna Reminds me of the time we went on holidays and left our son to mind the house, dogs and fish (not necessarily in that order!). I got a phone call from him in a panic. In a sheepish voice he told me that he thought that there was something wrong with one of my "big fish" (clown loaches) as i...

Hi Diana Thanks so much for the reply. My clowns are very secretive and never seem to fight. They are always together under the same hide. The 3 smaller ones used to be seen around the tank during the day, but the large one hardly ever came out. And since it died, they all spend all their time in th...

Tank mates - clown loaches
Hi It has been ages since I logged into this forum. Getting back ;to things now. I have a 4' tank with (now) 4 clown loaches. I lost my 8" loach while we were away on hols. I am not sure what happened, but the house sitter didn't notice for a few days I don't think. I am still trying to fix the tank...
