lissen up, im pretty mad right now do to the fact that 3 of my 9 loaches have died... no ick, no stress, NO NOTHING.

i guess i don't if they have a disease they are not showing, the only thing that shows is... that all the ones that have died have a cut right under the fishes head, next to the gils ...

the colour will darken over time as he is still adjusting to his enviroment. Since he is the only loach... you really should get some more. But otherwise nice job on killing that ich ( what a jerk..!!! killing your fish )LOL

wendi's idea is a good one, i do it all the time when i leave for a couple of days and ask my buds to feed them for me.

Hillstream loaches can range from 6 to 22 depending of where you live. Since i live in such a small town i have to pay for the 22, but it's understandable why it has to be that much.

I would say you should leave it and not buy anymore fish for 2 or 3 months to be safe. Also I would check the store you are buying from for ick in any of the tanks. Might i suggest Pearl Gouramis. They are one of the best looking fish (in my opinion) on this planet. You should get like 4 - 6 of them, also have an equal balance of males and females. If you don't know... Males will show ALOT more colour and leave black and white stripes hanging from their rear ...

I would say that they would get use to it in a couple of days, maybe weeks. Strong current can be a good thing when you have plants in there to keep the hair algae off.

First off i doubt the bamboo will do any harm to your fish. And it would be nice as a decoration too.
