I've found kubotai seem to really like round river rocks like those, the rocks make all kinds of cracks between them so the fish can swim and dart around.

Thats cool, I was just hoping for more ideas for fish that work well with the almost-filled look. I want to try hatchetfish so I can see them jump, but I'm pretty sure the butterflyfish would eat them :) Cories are cool too, I can't imagine how loud it must be if you have a close fitting glass top :)

thats REALLY cool, does he do that often?

I love the tank, why do you have the level down low like tha?, I have a tank with a low level like that, I keep african butterfly fish in it, it works great

if it didn't require a full tank re-design for me I might steal your bamboo pipe outlet idea :)

I find that having the food in a brightly colored container will sometimes work. They can see the color and will associate it with the food.

Any idea if these are all coming in wild caught or are they being farmed somewhere. I believe the prices at petsmart are very related to how easy it is to farm them. I've heard rumors they own their own fish farms, so that would make sense.

$15 each is the best I've seen and I bought them out, I've been trying to talk myself out of buying the last 2 $20 ones at petsmart.

If you planned that out and did a stand, tank, and hood I think you could make a very attractive, very long tank. I like the idea of a very long unidirectional flow tank, once you you get the water moving it will keep going, and you could vary the water speed by adding more rocks in areas less in ot...

I have a small group of Botia kubotai, and they are GREAT fish, very interesting coloring and behaviors. They LOVE to jam themselves in any crack or space they can find. I sometimes get very worried about burrying them. My tank decor has become many round river rocks stacked together, they love hidi...

Is this an all glass tank, or is it a glass front on some other kind of container?

This is very interesting, I have plans in my head for a 8ft plywood tank, I'd like to see ones that work though :)

Most of them are in guppy breeders, I haven't come up with a good top fish for the tank yet so I was using it for guppy breeding.

does anyone think an extra deep substrate be appreciated by them, maybe even with void areas in it for them to hide in(buried pipe sections). You may not see them much, but Kuhli paradise might not be the same as Kuhli veiwing parradise ;)
