Orange Finnned

Very lively, jump, crawl through opening. Difficult to make tank loachproof for these. Vivid orange fins and two black dots by tail. The smaller fish have stripes similar to tigers, but these definitely are not tigers. This does not really come out in the photos, but you can see this more in the las...

There are many people on this forum that say that loaches can be kept with shrimp of various types. I would disagree, I feed ghost shrimp to my loaches, and all of them dig in. I think pretty much any loach if hungry would attempt any shrimp smaller than itself.

Those are great photos of fat sids.

How quickly, or slowly do sids grow? I have had my juvi sids for about three months now, and I cannot see that they have grown.

..do you know what the bottom of the canal look light? Are there aquatic plants or is it all sand & rocks? The water is pretty murky down there. The canal is a large artery diverting water originating from the river systems at Ayuttaya away from the Chao Praya and around Bangkok. The water is silte...

I mix loaches with new world cichlids and they all seem to get on well. I would be careful about mixing small loaches with large aggressive cichlids, but it is not difficult. Many of the larger laoches can easily outrun and do circles round a cichlid. If you want a peaceful and beautiful cichlid, I ...

I am not sure you should try to get loaches out of their hidey holes. They like them. And you do not have to clean your tank all that often, you just upset the fish.

1. To stay together as a group ...
2. To expend less energy fighting the resistance ...
Well thank you Vanc. This is a good explanation.
