Re: Looking for new home for 12 Large Clowns

Thanks Nancy, I appreciate that you understand the feeling :)

I guess I should mention that, for the right home, maybe it's possible to figure something out to deal with location complications.

Looking for new home for 12 Large Clowns

I am looking for a new home for my 12 clown loaches. Edit: All set now! Thanks everyone! I care a lot about them, I have had some of them for over 14 years, and some are pretty large, 7-8 inch range. For the most part, they have been my only fish in a 300 gallon tank, but I have had to relocate and ...

Re: Unsure what this behavior means

Thanks so much both of you! Shadowing A behaviour noted in many Botiine species, particularly clown loaches. One or more of the smaller, subordinate fish swim as closely as possible to a larger more dominant fish, often appearing as if they are ‘joined up’ side-by-side at the gills. This phenomenon ...

Unsure what this behavior means

Hi there, I have a few clown loaches, but today I noticed something a little strange. At first one of the smaller loaches swam up quickly next to my red tail shark, and started swimming/pushing against his side. I watched him do it again and it almost looked aggressive, he might have even nipped the...

Gravel Vac Heavy Poop... not working.

Hi there, I just put in a sand substrate for my loaches, and the all love it, etc. I did this to help keep a cleaner environment in my fish tank. One big problem though... My pump i'snt strong enough to lift up all the poop so it can get into the filter... So after one day's sleep, I wake up to find...

New Type Of Sand For Substrate- Is It Good?

I was doing some research on the pool sand you guy's had mentioned (quartz pool sand from Leslie's pool supply) and I came across a new interesting type of substrate. It's called Color Quartz and it comes in a variety of colors. It's made of quartz and covered in ce...

Hello, The large gravel you have is really a very good trap for waste. I personally use no gravel and have only sand for my loaches now. This problem you have is caused by in-attention and that is multiplied by the large gravel. I would slowly remove it and eventually replace it with plain pool fil...

Thank you guys so much for all of your help. I have read and understand all of this stuff before, I supose I just kinda forgot how important water changes are. We did a 12 gallon water change just now to start off with. (The stuff we found with the gravel vac was pretty bad too) Got a lot of junk ou...
