The money isn't really an issue although something would be nice, its more finding them a good home. To be honest i don't really trust any of my local fish shops! One of them i'd consider keeps larger clowns in big ground level tanks (sumps?) beneath the smaller display tanks however you don't know ...

Clowns for sale N.London
Hello people, sadly the day has inevitably come where my clown loaches have out grown thier current accomodation and i'm not in the situation to get them a new tank. The plan was to upgrade to a larger tank but as always time and their growth rate creeps on you. Rather than risk stunting them i'd li...

I use fine black gravel and although the clowns aren't quite as bright as when they were new it really isn't an issue in my eyes. The many moods of loaches means, in my experience, they don't all remain the same colour for any great length of time regardless of substrate colour. Is it not the case t...

I realise this is an emotive subject but surely the fastest most accurate decapitation method is sharp scissors. No possible feelings of pain involved with a clean severance of the spinal cord just behind the head continuing through the depth of the body seperating head from body i feel these ideas ...

yes loachmom, it appears the temperature wonderings will remain a mystery! Visited my lfs and saw a tank full of blue tetras, Boehlkea fredcochui, which i couldn't resist so 16 are now in the big tank absolutely loving the current, which i had wondered about. They form a sort of blue tetra conveyor ...

I do like the giant danios but they're something i'd consider when the clowns get larger (biggest is <3") and are moved to a larger tank. The zebras are a little to 'everyday' for my likeing and i definately wouldn't like to go any larger than that. Are the redfins a zebra colour morph? Any ideas ab...

Danio/Clown compatibility
Reading the forum i've noticed the various species of danio are always mentioned as a good choice of dither in tanks with small clown loach. This is definately a choice i'm considering however i wonder if anyone could suggest particular species on the smaller side that would do well in the warmer te...

Clowns and peas - warning
Yesterday i noticed one of my 5 1.75 in clowns was brathing rapidly and appeared swollen beneath the gills. He also seemed lethargic in comparison to the others and his usual self, resting against the glass at the front of the glass. Water parameters were fine but a 50% water change was done to be o...

aeration
hi guys, just joined after lurking for a few weeks. great advice dished out. on the topic of aeration; how is it that streaming bubbles through a tank doesn't give as much O2 content as surface agitation. surely its the same difference?
