If the q was addressed to me Ardillakilla - no, I have clocks that zero out at the first hint of a power outage and all were fine. Looking at Bigpow's post everything looked normal there too. I will never put the caves back and have rounded up some great (light) hollow logs for them.

Commiserations on your terrible loss Bigpow. I think I know exactly how you feel, having experienced an identical disaster a few months ago. You'll have to set up again of course. They are far to beautiful (read addictive) to give up easily. I'm positive my crash happened through a yoyo getting stuc...

I've always thought it was that they get more cautious as they get older. They certainly don't spend as much time up front as smaller ones.

Sorrry I can't help there as they don't list them on the bottle or the website. It is spelt Protozin BTW. I only know about it through a friend of mine who has been in the retail fish game for many years and swears by it. I've read some stuff on the net where it didn't seem to work for some, but it ...

I hesitate to butt in here as I haven't had much experience with ich in my years of keeping loaches. After my recent total wipeout I restocked the tank and (too late) spotted ich spreading rapidly. My eyes aren't what they used to be and the clowns were all hiding most of the time anyway, having jus...

R.I.P. Basil, Sybil, Major et al

I know I don't participate much nowadays (I don't feel I have much to contribute) but for those who remember them I'm sad to say I lost all my clowns, yoyos and robustas over Easter. I went away for 3 days and came back to devastation - the big tank so cloudy I couldn't see through it, a terrible sm...

loaches are all good chefkeith, except for Basil who remains skinny. I tried everything I know and nothing worked. The odd thing is she has a good appetite, still has plenty of attitude and isn't getting any skinnier. I am just enjoying her now and hoping she has a good few years left in her. Regard...

Yeah who knows. Maybe they had to move into a flat (apartment) or something. I'd certainly hate to wave them goodbye.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but they were all snapped up by the same person AFAIK so they will be able to stick together. The tank wasn't huge but it was adequate as a holding tank and I must say the tanks were all in beautiful condition. I hadn't been there before (other side of town) and it's a credit...

XXXL clown

Took a quick phone pic of this beauty at a LFS. It would have to be around 12" long and a beautifully calm loach. Unfortunately it and some smaller buddies were sold as soon as they were traded.

Apart from Basil, things are ok. Still no change, she still eats like a pig but doesn't put on weight. 4 flubendazole treatments haven't even done the trick.
