Personally I would not leave him. Try what you can, even if you think it will kill him. I dont think he is going to free himself and FWIW I would rather die quick than be trapped for days and die anyway.

My hardness is real high also so I might get some distilled water to mix in. You guys think that would be a good idea? Kinda kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

The Ph in my tank is consistently around 7.6. I have looked at a few loaches that say they need a Ph of 7.0. Do you think the difference in mine would be too high? If so, are there any methods of lowering it that do not involve chemicals that change it so quickly?

Hmm these are definatly not Chain loaches then.......That sucks because they are what I was looking for.

My LFS has a tank labled "Chain Loaches" which I want 6 of bady due to thier small size. However they sure dont look like Chain loaches.
