Re: Loach species for fish egg control in a pond ??
Very kool. 8) Thank you all very much!! :) I can't seem to find a retailer for Misgurnus fossilis. Would anyone recommend a reputable online store for both or either species mentioned above, Misgurnus fossilis and Misgurnus anguillicaudatus ?? I have been told to check the big chain retail pet stor...

Re: Loach species for fish egg control in a pond ??
Hey, Yeah, i know this thread is old, but... I've been keeping Misgurnus angullicaudatus in my small pond (~200ish gallons) for years. It gets cold enough that the pnd ices over at least part of the winter here. Just give them something to dig into - sand or mud on the bottom and they should be happ...

Re: Ich and Snails
Unless it is a major burden, I would keep the snails/shrimp in their tank for 4-5 weeks just to be on the safe side that they do not carry Ich back into the tank. It is less likely that they infected but could harbor a cyst that could reintroduce ich to your system. I would also suggest adding gac ...

Ich and Snails
Hi, I'm currently going through an ich treatment on my 75 gal Sid tank. Started 8 days ago by raising the temp to 86 F adding aquarisol (Cu based parasite medicine) each day and doing 33% water changes/gravel vacuuming every other day. I also have UV going on this tank. Anyway, the white spots are g...

Re: Rhinogobius aggressive ?
Most gobies are at least somewhat aggresive. I've kept Rhinogobies with larger loaches (yo-yos) and Barbs. Putting them in with pencil-fish??
Not sure the gobies can catch them... Snails/shrimp are likely food for these guys.

How many Sids in a 75gal?
Hey, A couple of months ago I went from 9 sids to 21. Seeing the whole pack of them swimming together is awesome. I'm thinking of adding MORE! The tank is 75 gallon, very heavily planted (nitrates < 10ppm) and has been up for more than 5 years. The other critters in the tank are 3 panda garras, 8-10...

Re: weather loach in a pond
Hey,
I keep dojos in my water garden (~200 gallons or so, maybe 2 ft deep). They've been in there for years, and get through the winter
(I'm in east TN) just fine.

Re: New on here...would like to know if...
Cherry shrimp, or any shrimp for that matter, can be tank mates with Yo Yo loaches. Is it possible? Would like to add a few, but not if they will become a meal. wink: My tank has plenty of hiding spots. Anyone have good luck with this combo? The other tank mates are corys and a rubbernose pleco. I'...
