Coryfish's fins getting caught in the net is quite common.
One of my biggest coryfish's fin was caught in the net, as his fins stiffen up when I caught him.
The trick is to immerse the net completely & let the coryfish swim away by himself, rather than forcefully releasing him.

Actually .. this particular clown is the least active one compared to my other ones. They're all still shy, but this one just likes to hide in a terracotta pot that's in the corner. He only comes out when I come near to the tank, trying to dart away. It'd be really great if I can see pics of clowns ...

Hah that's so cute. I initially thought that the smaller ones shadowed the bigger one for protection of some sort. Your video was very interesting and I hope we all can find out more if this is actually going to forecast some spawning actions in the near future :) Does anybody know why clowns are pa...

He still has the white stuff, but he seems ok.
So, I don't know if this is normal discolouration of some sort?

Why do smaller loaches shadow the bigger ones?
Is it to protect them from predators?

"its strange the water became cloudy when the loaches were fed less." I think that's just bacteria bloom .. but that is weird because bacteria bloom that creates cloudy water only happens during a new or mini cycle. How long have you had these loaches to the point that they're not shy of you anymore...

I'd say he's about 2-1/2 inches long from head to tail. Well, the whiteness is no longer new, maybe for about less than a week now. It's not raised, & the colour looks as if someone is trying to erase his black stripe :P He seems to be doing well though, so I hope it's nothing serious. What do you m...

Still use medications for 3 days after you see no more visible white specks.
I learned it the hard way - I stopped treatment too early & apparently I've created a more resistant strain of Ich.
Better be safe than sorry.

What's your temperature?
Warm water doesn't hold as much oxygen as cooler water, but then again sounds as if your loaches might have ich.
Just turn the heater up to 82-84 & increase aeration for now.
Good luck.

White patch on clown

Ok, so my tank is recovering from a bad case of Ich . The loaches look fine now & all water params are normal, but I don't have the measurement for Nitrate (I'm guessing it's near 0, since there might still be some lingering meds in the water that could've messed up the cycle). I noticed on one of t...

I feed them once a day.
Recently, I added my guppy fry because I thought they were big enough not to get eaten.
But I can't find them in the tank anymore & I have a feeling either the loaches ate them or the mommy guppy ate them

What a cute picture!!!
You're lucky to have managed to sneak up on him while sleeping!
Whenever I try to take pics of mine sleeping, I think the flash wakes them up

I used to do water changes weekly, but now have done water changes every 4-5 days.
Since I got a new powerhead, I've noticed that they like playing in the strong water current a lot.
I just hope that the powerhead won't tire them out.

Thanks for the replies. I was just making sure that this change in feeding behaviour is normal. I want to feed them flakes, but with the powerhead & BioWheel, flakes seem to go everywhere .. mostly to places that the loaches don't hang out at. I prefer wafers just because I know I can drop it in the...
