My sincerest apologies, Sophie, I glanced at the avatar and thought it was Wendie's. I'll be more observant next time.

Thanks all for the info. I'll share anything I find.
Jim, its a long trip plus kids so stopping on the way back won't be feasible, unless we stop to eat right next to a pet store.

Wendie, you are correct. As I recently learned P. javanicus has been reclassified as P. oblonga. P. pangia is indeed a different species.
There are definitely a lot of Pangios but I don't think there could ever be too many.

Hillstream article in AFM

I just picked up the April issue of AFM to read on my vacation and there is an article on hillstreams. I haven't read it yet so I don't know how good it is but I thought I'd let everyone know in case they are not subscribers.
:)
Maybe this will help tide us over until the book comes out.

anyone know of a good loach store in Atlanta?

I will be driving to Atlanta next week to visit family and was wondering if anyone knows a good lfs in the area. While it is unlikely that I would bring anything back it is a possiblity. I am well aware of the difficulties of such a transport so it would have to be something extraordinary (plus I'd ...

Nice job on the flyer mike! :)

I think this is just the sort of thing all lfs need to see. Except the really good ones that already get it.

Schistura territory question

I have a 50g (48" x 12" footprint) set up for Schisturas. currently there are only 2 in it, one sexcauda and 1 similis. I recently got 6 more (probably at least 4 different species) and can get 6 to 8 more of similar size. The six new ones are in quarantine so I have many options. My question is how...

I have two 5 yr old black kuhlis (Pangio oblonga) that come out all the time. I picked up 4 more a week and a half ago and they are already adjusting to the QT. I can usually see all 4 within minutes of feeding. I am setting up a species only tank for all of mine and it will have caves and hiding sp...

Pangio piperata???

I picked up 4 Javanese loaches last week and they had unusual color when I brought them home. Since then 2 have taken on the usual appearance of Pangio oblonga. The other 2 still have a more mottled pattern that looks similar to Pangio piperata. One has the gold spot at the dorsal aspect of caudal p...
