We also let it sit and air out for a while. We removed all the plants and repla...

Yeah we went to the local home depot for our substrate and it works great! Very uniform dirt cheap and we bought several bags of the stuff. The only thing is it gets dirty so we had to wait a few days for the water to clear up before we put the fish into the tank.

I remember seeing icewall's fish first do this. Sometime it can be scary since they can get all lopsided and floating. But like the poster above me said this is normal behavior....now I find it amusing....like laughing at a family member who has fallen asleep at a family function....

Well me and icewall used Commercial Grade Quickrete - Fine Sand in our tank. The sand grains were pretty uniform and the loaches seemed to love it. It took a while to clean all the sand before we put it in (to get all the dust out) but its looks nice and the loaches seemed to love it. We got it from...

Nice looking fish Icewall, but I would seriously consider replacing the Clown with another Modesta. As with pretty much all Loaches they do best in shoals of there own kind and in my experiance Modestas and Clowns are not a good mix because the Modestas will eventually get way to feisty for the Clo...
