Re: Sewellia marmorata fry

Thanks, Charles,

Looks like 3, about 7mm, from the same spawn.

Not prolific :(

I'm trying for a good photo, no luck so far -- they do not like coming to the front :(

Good luck with the move!

Re: Leucist Sewellia Sp. Spotted fry

Incredibly interesting indeed -- this is an unusual case where attempting line breeding may work, so hope you try!

Do you have still photos to show?

Re: Has the forum considered Breeding Reports as a site func

Actually I have a solution for you guys if you are interested ... I have a domain designed for doing just this, simply do not have time, but the idea is to collect breeding info for loaches and gobies. It is becoming increasingly clear that I will not do this myself -- too many other things to do --...

Re: Clown loach eating other fish.

Predatory fish are often capable of eating a fish up to 1/2 of its size. They may not always succeed, but they will try. or their own size... or even larger  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3356481/He-hungry-Watch-incredible-moment-catfish-gulps-fish-big-itself.html not clowns, obvio...

Re: Anyone have Sewellia lineolata for sale?

Trin is very good. I now got three loach groups from them, all are doing fine.

Wetspot is another online place to consider.

It may take years to find them, be prepared.

(I've been looking for crimsons for 8 years till I finally got them).

Re: Where to buy sinibotia

Ok thanks for the help mike! I'm keeping space open for sinibotia anyway, so I wouldn't order them. You can try. But I suggest try through your local store (many can get Segrest fish) and insist on a current photo (this may be difficult). The photo Segrest and the Bluegrass creeps used might be a r...

Re: Where to buy sinibotia

Hi, I'm still looking! This is listed as botia histrionica but it looks like sinibotia to me, probably robusta but maybe something else? http://bluegrassaquatics.com/loach-botia-golden-zebra-regular.html ok.... here is what is known about Bluegrass: everyone I know who tried to buy from them had pr...

Re: In need of sun loaches

While checking these two sources is the right thing to do when looking for *any fish*, I cannot recall Wetspot ever offering y.eos or it ever appearing on Aquabid.... the best chances may be to examine shipments of similar loaches (modesta et al) everywhere hoping for a contaminant. And talking to e...

Re: What loach did I get?

third wrong assumption -- that if the fish came together to your lfs it was caught together. Instead, all too often the exporters mix different catches.
