Palaeodave has a bit of a horror story involving a Yoyo getting stuck in a gap in one of those resin root ornaments, it all worked out alright in the end thankfully. Resin ornament's colour can fade over time, which is something to take into consideration. Personally I favour driftwood and natural r...

http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/

I've read this page on The Krib over and over whilst after an algae eater, the chinese algae eater is by many accounts a little git. Sometimes sold as sucking loaches, my mate got one with a tank, it had a go at his polypterus.

The only sensible answer you're going to get is more Botia striata, that is simply the right thing to do. I have a shoal myself and they're active and exciting fish to keep. Personally I think they're very attractive fish too. I personally would like a mixed shoal of loaches, I think it'd be great b...

Went for a stroll today around the local fish shops, one of them has these in stock currently, was a nice little surprise. There was the odd ailing fish amongst them but i've seen worse. I think they had them up as 'Yellow tiger botia' or something like that.

I can't imagine you'll have any problems, mine has been uprooted and replanted 3 times in the last couple of months and it looks none the worse for wear.

As my anubias is in the darker section of the tank it doesn't get much agaei growth, That which it does get I think is kept under control by the snail population. Coconut is very rich so make sure they're good and clean before going in the tank as the rich flesh rotting could sour your water quite q...

I'm a big fan of bogwood, if you have a lfs that stocks it go have a proper good rummage and you can find some really nice bits witht heir own little caves. I like natural decor so I have a gravel/sand mix with a few larger stones plonked in. As for plants Anubias and Java fern I'd agree with (anubi...

From what I know inbreeding causes more problems than hybridization, as in dalmatians for example, a breed of dog heavily inbred and as a result heavily prone to genetic disorders leading to blindness and deafness. White tigers are no longer bred as they come from a reduced gene pool and have a weak...
