What size heater?

I have, what I think is a 30 gallon tank, what size heater would be good for this tank? It's going to be a hill stream tank.

I found that with my 5 gallon I had to do water changes twice a week. The gunk just builds up to fast in a little tank, even with only a betta in it, which is what I had in my 5.

Cleaning a previous salt water tank.

I have a used 30 gallon tank which will become my hill stream tank.
I think this tank may have been a salt water tank. Is there any special cleaning procedure I should use? I've seen some other posts in the past about this but don't remember what it said.

Hey everyone!

It's been a long time since I was here last. All my fish are doing great. The plecos are still spawning for me, loaches still happy. My father-in-law found me a 30 gallon tank with stand for free. Just have to fill the tank up, make sure there are no leaks, needs a good scrubbing also. This tank is ...

PH meter.

I'm back, with a question. I'm trying to find a good cheap PH meter. I have the liquid form of the test, but some of my tanks have peat in them so it changes the color and it's hard to read. So can someone give me the name of a cheap meter.
Thanks

I kept my yoyos with my bristles, until I got the new tank. There was no problems between them.

It kind of does sound like an experiment when you mix those fish together, when there is lots of literature that advises against this, on the 10% off chance everyone is wrong, as it sounds you believed. But we all do make mistakes sometimes and that can be forgiven if it is discontinued and you lear...

Thanks everyone. plaalye - Yeah there just the stock bulbs, 17 watt each. palaeodave - I do get some algae. Mostly where the sun shines in for an hour or so in the afternoon. I just wipe it off the back of the tank. If you look closely you'll see it on the anubias, that's the only plant I have troub...

I checked both my faucets and one does have the threads on the outside not inside, but the python fitting is to large to work. Even the Brass Snap Connector is to large.
I guess I am going to have to go to Lowes and try to find something that will work.

I used to use a python, but since we changed the sink faucets I have been unable to find an adapter that works.
The threads on the new sink are on the inside not outside. Anyone now of an adapter that will fit?

I'm glad your yoyo is still doing well. I think just keeping an eye on the scrape and keeping the water clean should be ok for now.
