3/4 inch tubing has just over twice the cross-sectional area of 1/2 inch. I've got a 36" tank with a 3/4 inch river tank manifold, and there's definitely a noticble drop in flow for a powerhead hooked into it. Not major, but not insignificant. With 1/2 inch pipe a lot of power would be going to wast...

Well, I'm not sure exactly what encouraged them to spawn, but i'll do my best 8) From my own obsevations, they seem to prefer temperatures around 22c- they're less colourful in coldwater tanks and not as active in higher temperatures. I've read that a large, cooler water change can encourage spawnin...

Cheers Mikev :D
These are the first fish I've managed to breed, so I'm a little bit paranoid about their wellbeing. I've them on a drip for a few hours now and if anything they've coloured up a bit.

Baby White Clouds

I've currently got 5 WCMM fry growing up in a 5 gallon, and I'm wondering if they're big enough yet to be moved into the river tank. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z80/Matt_Rock/PICT0008.jpg For comparison, the white pipe is about 22mm diameter, so they appear to be a little under 2cm TL. I don'...

Very nice! :D
I've got some of the same sponges on my river tank manifold, and they seem to be doing the job very nicely so far.
Do you have any plans for dithers? As you might be able to guess, i'm a big fan of white clouds

Great video :D I see my cheni scrapping fairly frequently, but it's less of shoving match, and more of a scramble to get on top of the other guy, with a lot of zooming up and down the tank. Its very cool to see the way different species interact.

Many thanks, all of you. I've had the ghostie since it was about an inch and a half, and he's now about 7" TL. He's getting a bit big for his tank, so he'll be moving this year into a 20' pond. I'm going to miss him :(

Hello all

A few months back, I picked up a couple of "Chinese Butterfly Plecos" from Pets at Home for my 10G coldwater tank. Luckily, I found this site :D I've finally got the new river tank just how I like it, and I thought it was time to come back and say a very big thank you to everyone involved in this si...
