It really isn't. :lol: If you WANT to do them, the Java fern takes a lot of abuse and just keeps on going though.

I imagine if by "basic plants" you mean "Java ferns" you could probably get away with putting a single incandescent bulb somewhere in the remote proximity of your tank, and be juuuust fine. There's only a few plants to my knowledge that go well in loach tanks, and the only other one I can think of a...

Hey, Duff, that really doesn't look very much like my catfish. The bottom picture is rather similar in general 'look,' but the coloration is much more pale, and the whiskers are nowhere near as pronounced. My guy's body is a lot more 'fat'. Perhaps it's a morph of some kind? It's not easy to get pic...

Everything sounds fine apart from the Giraffe Catfish, a Giraffe will try and eat things that it really cant (common sense in a fish would be wonderful).
